Canoeing 

Canoe the Kickapoo River (Ontario, WI - 12 miles).  The entire family can enjoy this winding river, it’s stunning natural beauty and unbridled appeal to all ages and times.  Visit Drifty's Canoe Rental for more information. 

 

Trout Fishing 

Guests are invited to fish the Baraboo River, as it meanders within walking distance of Dolly’s Pedaler’s Rest, and is stocked with trout at the Kendall Village Park (1 mile). Be cautious of cattle and horses that share pasturelands.

 

 

Wildcat Mountain State Park 

Half the fun of this spectacular activity is the winding road of natural beauty that gets you there. Wildcat Mountain State Park is un-glaciated with numerous rock outcroppings, stunning views, and the envy of all horseback riders who return and ride the incredible trails. 

 

 

Horseback Riding  

“Circle S” Trail Rides (Wilton, WI - 4 miles) is just over the hill from Dolly’s Pedaler’s Rest.  The horses keep an even pace over cropland, into the woodlands, up to the ridge tops, and back to the barn. Call 608-435-6975 for more information.

Wildlife  

Kickapoo Valley Reserve and the Necedah Wildlife Refuge are excellent activities for the avid wildlife watcher and nature lover.

 

Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center

Learn about the growing, harvesting, and production methods of Wisconsin's commercially grown cranberries - 150 years of history behind the cranberry.  Get great recipes too!

Wisconsin Dells  

The Dells hosts an abundance of activities for young and old.  Some of these activities include many waterparks, the Ho-Chunk Casino, dinner theatres, Native American culture, The Ducks, shopping and more.  Click here for more information.

 

Agriculture  

Cranberry, dairy and grain farming follows North and East of Tomah.  Here you will find several cranberry bogs, along with dairy farms that dot the countryside with primarily Holstein cattle.  Beef cattle are also prevalent throughout our area and tractors planting and harvesting is a common scene.

Amish Produce Auction

This auction sells every type of vegetable and flower.  Also annual Amish made products.  Check local papers for times.

 

Amish Settlements

Amish Craftsmen

Take a “Country Road” tour around Cashton, WI where you can see Individual retail home sales of furniture makers, bakers, weavers, quilters, green thumbs, log cabins, gazebos and candy makers.

(Respectful of their religious beliefs there are never Sunday sales or negotiations.  (A “shingle” on the mailbox or sign in the yard is an “open” sign when traveling by. )
